Why is it that if someone walks though my door this week and breaks down in tears, chances are its a Policeman/woman.

Not to be too contentious but do the BIB hierarchy know anything about man management? They seem to have no tolerance for sick leave. They rotate people doing good jobs in established homes/relationships and a complete whim and to the other side of the country. Expect the family to follow, and tell the employee its because they don't want them to become corrupt!!!!

For goodness sake. I would have thought joe soaps attitude to the BIB was enough without the person standing behind you doing a hatchet job. Who the hell makes up these rules!

thanks PH much needed steam release.

Hey! Joe Soaps *only* contact with the Police will be an SP50 in the post probably for @85mph.

You can't have it both ways. Persecute the public and then expect sympathy and respect.

It wasn't very many years ago that the police were popular.

Stop operating the camera's for a month or two & lock up a few crims and the rozzers would be national hero's over night.

Further to another thread around here it so happens every rozzer I've met has been a pretty nice bloke. Certainly the guys on this forum seems ok.

But since at least one SP50 has been issued to every member of my immediate family and maybe 60 per cent of the people I know socially I'm guessing there's an overwhelming hardcore of plod who are just looking to aggrivate the 'public'.

I don't think the majority of them are trying to aggrevate the public, they're just doing their job as prioritised by the Govt. I remember one time being ticketed for speeding and the policeman was no keener to be there giving tickets than I was to be there receiving one!

It's always the same, whether it be police or the public facing part of any large body/company. The people who make the rules aren't the ones who have to enforce them, and put up with the sh*t that goes with it!

I was just thinking how unaccountable the upper levels seem to be. Their treatment of their staff seems to be below that one would expect of even macdonalds.

e.g. senior officer tells pregnant mum with five years service that she has rendered herself ineffective in the job! Who gets away with that nowadays???

You complain that the BIB you meet are unforgiving etc. Surely if you put a person in a position of stress, at conflict, most of the time with who they deal with (joe soap) and then manage them so badly from behind that they have no support and feel incredibilty undervalued.

What other type of BIB are you creating than the disinfranchised pissed off one?

It is the age old situation - boss shouts at man, man shouts at wife, wife kicks the dog.

The 'management' of the force have so much crap thrown at them from the Gov/Home Office that some of it will get passed down the line. You should start with the man at the top. Mr Bliar, 10 Downing Street, London etc etc

Not that's an idea.

If every ticket issued had to be signed by Tony *and didn't* have a police crest on it.

After 5 years (Points off licenses) the police would become instantly popular again and Tony would be nationally hated...

How do you think a NIP would be worded if it came from No 10? ie: NIP in Blair Language...

Notice of Intent to Prevent Further Actions of inappropriate behaviour.

Listen, It really is not right to be driving on our streets...

Interesting - historical fact is that Japanese Imperial army dicovered that keeping a large force disciplined was achieved by treating the foot soldiers like scum. They in turn found it quite easy to treat the people they had control of even worse.

So maybe there is a parallel of sorts here.

Do they really 'rotate' you to a different job in the force on a complete whim on a regular basis and call it improving the chances of corruption?

And can they really dismiss you for not going alone with this.

I can only speak of my experience of the force I was with.Dependant on who was running the Station, people were moved seemingly on a whim, although back when I was in the job I never heard the reason given as preventing corruption. They generally didn't give a reason!(I am talking quite a long time ago!)
