They've recently changed the speed limit on Belmont Road, North of Bolton to a 50, from the NSL it has been for all of time. It's a good twisty road but claims a few lives a year - usually bikers.
When it was "60" you had to concentrate on the road and think about what you were doing. Now you just sit there plodding along in auto-pilot mode. Also, you can't now overtake the 40 mph club member for fear of getting caught speeds. It looks like they've won!
I thought there were some restrictions on speed limited roads like there had to have street lights etc.
Can anyone expand on this?
