Police car forcing a driver to speed up
Discussion
I witnessed a police car blatantly causing another motorist to speed up last night on a dual carrigeway, then stopping them for what I assume was a speeding ticket. I shan't say where at this point.
I was so insensed by this I have reported the incident to the county police involved & am awaiting a resonse.
Suffice to say if this chap was done for speeding then I would happily offer myself as a witness to the incident. However I have no way of finding out who it was etc, what can I expect in response?.
Any BIB's here could you offer any advice please, as this was not good practice (as far as I know). I had previously been following this chap for some time & up until this incident he had been obeying the speed limit.
What's the guidelines on following vehicles, distances apart etc especially in the dark.

Went out for a very short blat tonight to get the coolant flowing after fitting the new airhorns. (VERY LOUD!!) Went to shell garage and returned via some nice twisty roads.
Some nob was sitting right on my tail (about 2 feet) and I was doing just a little over the limit. Thought to myself - right I'll show them once we get to the bendy bits, but then had a second thought that perhaps not such a bright idea, so instead I indicated and braked fairly heavily pulling into a bus stop. A police car trundled past, started to brake, but then kept going. My lucky night. Good decision not to floor it.

its call get a foot off his bummper to they push him too go faster and makr him nervos.
seen this trick loads of times.
I was pulled over for doing 3 figure speeds on an open road in the middle of the night. I thought the bike behind me wanted to play. It was a copper.
I don't think he meant to push me, but it felt that way at the time. I should have pulled over to let him pass. We keep saying that if someone in front of us is going slower then they should pull aside to let us past. Why shouldn't we do the same. Noone forces us to drive faster. Now if someone behind wants to go faster than me, he will have to wait till I can pull in!

My question was not sarcastic at all (I get the impression from the other posts that it may have been considered so)
I have speeded up because BiB was up my back side lights flashing and I was in the outside lane indicating left in a queue of traffic - I saw a break in the traffic about 1/4 mile up the road and went up to an indicated 90, got to it, and pulled in - passenger BiB gave me thumbs up as he passed...
Was just wondering (honest).
Cheers

WTF? Why was the copper 2foot off your bumper then? I'm sure they aint taught to do that.....
Lets just say he was inconsiderately close as they crested a hill & continued to do so all the way down. If I was the the victim I can assure you some sort of animal would have jumped out in front of me!, and I'd have to had veered across the road to avoid it too.
Anyway if that chap got a ticket would there be mitigating circumstances?, if so I'd volunteer as a witness.

some time back I on me way home. just about to join the motorway.
go aroung the roandabout bib in a van has allready gone round it desids to go around againg and follow me up the slip road.

so I move back to the left lane as. I clear the trucks in it figering the moron bib will carry on in the middel land.
but no twat moves in to the left lane and contiues tallgating be as close as he can get.
so I call 999 on the mobile.
and ask for old bill and ask them to radio and ask him what the
he thinks hes doing 3 foot off me tail pipe.
so they try and tell me its not an emergency.
so I say well it
will be in a sec If I have to break.
and hang up.
30 seconds later he packs it in over takes and strait isoff at the next junction.

They are doing this around where I live as well (no where to be seen then all of sudden they are on you butt).
The first time they gave me a real fright, so much so I tried to get away and was pulled (thankfully without points from BiB (nice bloke and woman just had a chat - I think because I was so shook up by a completely unmarked car chasing me flashing it's headlights)).
It happened again when I was in the marlin coming home on Friday night (I go much slower in Marlin) but in a car with no crumple zones or anything and sitting about 2.5ft from the rear which has solid chassis on display, someone driving about 3ft from your bumper (I couldn't see his headlights for my spare tyre) it worries you alot...
So much so, I am considering ringing to local station (Whickham) to ask about it... Kinda think it's a bad idea tho, not sure. It certainly isn't nice when it happens, when it happens next time (as I;m sure it will) I plan to pull across the bumpy white line to the left (i.e. verge) indicating and slow right down. Hopefully they will pass and I won't be so worried!

YAY!!
THIS is what I like to see. A thread about someone who believes that a BiB would risk losing his job and doing time for perverting the course of justice just to get home a speeding ticket.
I think there should be a forum entitled "utter tw@ts", where BiB can post utter b
x we made up about everyone else :P
Bring on the flames...had a BAD set of lates

Outlaw - I got a lot of respect for you. You tell it how it is and no doubt would rip me to my face rather than the pus
s that mutter something then deny speaking (NO respect for the man who won't insult me to my face
)
And I appreciate that, yes, some of my colleagues are utter muppets and should NEVER have been allowed to wear the cloth (yes, I get stopped too) but risking prison to rake £60 for the man??
Planting drugs, manufacturing evidence, lacing playing cards with semtex...sure!
But forcing people to drive fast???? That's just nasty...

personal they cant make me drive faster unless the cars nicked
to old for that now.
the point was I did want the muppet parked on my back seat if I had to break.
never seen evidence planting but seen plenty of evidence losing.
re the cloth personal I think thats what does it.
I used to work in the security industry
its
amazing what a unform will do to some morons.
Thats why i prefered the cid they ushall got over it by the time there out of it.
