Nicked for no Washer Fluid!
What's going on here?

Discussion
Saw this chap on TV this morning.
Apparently the FPN has been withdrawn and replaced by a written caution.
FFS. 3 cops tied up for 30 minutes doing a random check? Sounds like a big waste of time to me. Is it just me, or does it sound like somebody gave them a malicious "tip off"?
On a related note, if its an offence to have no screenwash in your car, what happens when you run out of fluid on a long journey? Do you stop at the nearest police station and hand yourself in?

My god
he wasn't even driving it, it was outside his home and they raided his house
And it takes 3 officers to do it!!! Utter waste of tax payers money.
If the car wasn't being driven the chap could have said "I know, I'm going to fill it up in 5 mins, that's why it's parked outside and I'm not driving it"
Utter waste of tax payers money.

I guess that the car had just been in for an MOT at a garage that they suspect is giving out dodgy MOT passes. So they find a car that passed that very day, and then inspect it so to gather evidence for a conviction against the garage. They then find a couple of faults that should of been failures on the test.
I thank you

Reminds me of the time about 10 years ago when two officers pounded on my door one night demanding I move my car. It was parked (I kid you not) 3 inches too close to a junction. Yes thats right 3 inches, and the BiB had a tape measure to prove it.
When I complained to the local nick about this outrageously heavy handed approach they said that the increased "policing" was a direct result of a number of vandal attacks on cars that had been reported in the village....! (one of which had actually been on my car) and they thought they were doing us all a favour by "clamping down" on car crime.
No, he wasn't being ironic either

One can only assume the guy had upset them in some way, so they were out to get him. There can be no other logical reason for such a course of events.
Whatever, it has backfired on plod spectacularly. Once they have successfully alienated the general public, how can the organisation continue to exist?

It saddens me that you read the sun!
But as you do please accept that this is not likely to be the whole story.
Why would 3 cops turn out to someones house unless they had good reason?
And the ticket was for his battery not the washer! (not that that makes it any better but it is then factual)
This guy must have had it coming or they were looking for something else?
