Speed limit Increased after speed camera Installed

Sadly Not in the UK. This is the attitide of Australian Scamera partnership. Thought it might be of interest.

Following the installation of fixed speed cameras in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, significant reductions in travel speeds were found. Prior to the installation, over 63% of vehicles exceeded the speed limit by more than 10 km/h, while an average of 30% exceeded the limit by more than 20 km/h. Following the installation of speed cameras, the speed limit was increased from 70 km/h to 80 km/h and less than 1% of vehicles exceed the new speed limit by more than 10 km/h.

got a trevelo (30 limit)near me, the average speed is now about 22mph FFS on a road that should be at least 40! as its a "dual laner" with an island between carrageways.
