Driving down a dual carriageway at around 9:40pm there were two police cars parked on the opposite side to me, didnt have any equpiment out but one policeman seemed to point at me as i went past...i was doing about 55mph in a 40 
why would there be two cars, and why so late on a friday night?!! anyone help? just have to get this off my chest too!

Ignoring why a dual carriageway has a 40mpg speed limit - (oh yes incase children are playing on it).. I would think if they wanted to nick you they would have given chase.. why 2 cars? - should think just having a shift swap (or does that have to be done back at the shop?) You were probably in the line of sight for something else they were looking at... wouldn't worry too much..
Sounds like they'd stopped for a natter (yes, we do talk to each other sometimes...and *shock* sometimes not even about work!! 
Saw you drive by and one of them said "Look at that muppet" and pointed. Then went back to talking about golf or something.
I expect then logically you'd have been MUCH happier if they'd have been super-efficient, given chase and stuck him on...?
