Um...well personally I'm off to Prague.

Heard the beer's cheap and there are an endless supply of gorgeous women who love talking to ugly great streaks of pi55 (so I'll be OK ).

And the streets are paved with gold.

See y'all in a few days

Well theres a thread on General Gassing saying Madcop has gone, whether permanmently or not we'll have to wait and see. Tonyrec was last heard of sleeping off the effects of a long shift waiting for concorde, and I have seen Silverback Mike posting once recently.

However if I was a BiB I would be posting less due to the constant criticism aimed in their direction. There is a classic example on a thread about an accident involving a road safety officer and a motorcyclist.

The Police get criticised for targetting motorists, and not locking up people long enough etc, however the Police, and certainly those that post here, don't set the targets for who they have to catch, and its not the police who decide who to prosecute, and they certainly don't set the sentencing.

I am sure that if people were more civil, and appeared to realise that the ills of the justice system are not down to the BiBs on the ground, in their postings we would find more of the BiBs posting.

Still here chaps...
Working quite hard at the moment, so not much time to post...
Nice to be missed though.
It is true what Chris says, it does get a bit tiresome when people constantly have a go. After all, we are off duty when on here, trying to offer advice if needed. It is a joint interest in motoring that brings us here.
You don't find anyone sticking a knife into the ribs of builders, accountants that may be posting (to use an example). But then again, I suppose we are an easy target.
I am used to people doing it whilst on duty, they usually receive a decent response, but when trying to offer some assistance, you don't need a constant whine and whinge about the 'useless coppers' or 'fascist bstards prosecuted me for speeding....'
Anyway, I hope Madcop comes back, I know Tony is giving it another go, and there are a few more of us 'lurking' no doubt!
Regards to all.
Mike.

It's not the rank and file police officers (except for a small minority) that deserve criticism, it's their bosses and their bosses' bosses.

It's certainly not the BiB on this Forum!!!

Got to face it. BiB are drawn from society in general, and as such reflect the mess we have become. It's not the 98 plod who see you and let you go that we notice, it's the 2 who are arseholes and are looking to make a point.

I've read posts on here that have been designed to bait 'our' BiB, which is a bit low, because I think that the ones who give up their own time here (and I have 'pressed the flesh' with a couple of them - they are true petrolheads) are in the top 2%, not the bottom-feeders.

I'ts as cheap to fire a broadside at all BiB because you had a bad experience with one as it is to brand all car enthusiasts as sociopathic w*nkers because you were once the victim of an aggressive d*ckpiece in a fancy car.

Anyway, Top Gear has started, and I quite fancy James May, so I'm off now

I HAVE BEEN WHERE YOU FEAR TO GO
I HAVE SEEN WHAT YOU FEAR TO SEE
I HAVE DONE WHAT YOU FEAR TO DO
ALL THESE THINGS I HAVE DONE FOR YOU.
I AM THE MAN YOU LEAN UPON
THE MAN YOU CAST YOUR SCORN UPON
THE MAN YOU BRING YOUR TROUBLES TO
ALL THESE MEN I'VE BEEN TO YOU.
THE MAN YOU ASK TO STAND APART
THE MAN YOU FEEL SHOULD HAVE NO HEART
THE MAN YOU CALL THE MAN IN BLUE,
BUT I'M JUST A MAN LIKE YOU.
AND THROUGH THE YEARS I'VE COME TO SEE
THAT I'M NOT WHAT YOU ASK OF ME
SO TAKE MY WARRANT, TAKE MY BATON
WILL YOU TAKE IT?… WILL ANY ONE?
AND WHEN YOU WATCH A PERSON DIE
AND HEAR A BATTERED CHILD CRY
THEN DO YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN BE
ALL THE THINGS YOU ASK OF ME?

10 years ago people's first reaction to plod was positive.

Now they've alieneated the public to the point that people have to post poems to remind themselves of the good work they do...

The job *wouldn't be* thankless if plod didn't piss off 2 million motorists every year.
