Blag number plate
Discussion
There's a shed of a BMW (prob an E or F) driving round my town with C4RLS on it. I was interested in it coz a mate bought C9RLS which is now valued at £2500.
I was at lights next to this guy once and asked him how much he paid for it, he said £250 from Elite.
I believe this plate sold at auction for £40k and am sure I've seen it advertised elsewhere for about £70k.
Now assuming that this guy has just gone out and got plates made up, (harder now that you have to show V5 or reminder letter), what is the charge?
£40 for failing to show correct plates or obtaining £70,000 of goods by deception?
Any ideas?

If he is around Runcorn, no doubt PC Gooch will be on to him.
He's quite well known round these here parts.
He stopped me once for having too thick letters on my plate - nothing wrong with the spacing etc. Had to have them redone twice and he visited the plate manufacturer too to re-instruct him!

It may not be C4RLS.
A PHer I know has the fantastic plate R4CER, and one day I saw the 'same' plate on a yellow MR2 (new shape). I used to keep seeing it day in, day out, on my way to work.
Eventually I saw the plate whilst stuck in traffic. It was the shadiest representation ever, and was actually R4GER (or something) with a white bolt over the G. Absolutely impossible to tell apart from R4CER at most speeds and distances. I told Terry (genuine owner) to watch out for Gatso tickets with an MR2 on them

This tosser doesn't happen to be knocking around Runcorn does he?
Well I'm in Birkenhead but even though you're only 10 miles away the car looks like it would need taking to Runcorn on a low loader!!
Also it is definately C4RLS and get this, his spacing is legal!! Obviously a scally with a conscience!!
Would the guy who spent the wedge on the plate be able to do him for "intent to deprive"??

Saw J4MES on a silver Porsche (lol......dunno the model, but looks like a new 911 ?) for the 2nd time heading towards Gilette Corner this evening from Isleworth direction. Wondered if it was anyone from here......what a cool plate - gawd knows how much too
