The game doesn't work properly.

I tried to put humps and gatsos on the railway, but it wouldn't let me.

I note with interest that casualties rose from 0 to 172 after I imposed various speed control measures.

I just put the speed humps on the dual carriageway and a speeding motorist had an accident there....

"No Shit Sherlock" speed humps in a 70 = accident

So, they're paying people to code this rubbish up in an attempt to convince us that cameras are wonderful things.

"Brightly coloured saftey vans....."

My arse.

I managed 205 casualties

Why couldn't I lower all the speed limits to 20mph? The lower limit would have surely stopped all those joy riders and Lax Power brigade from crashing.

I thought it was quite accurate, when I put a speed camera by the college the accident rate on the surrounding roads went up dramtically, proving they don't work. - Why doesn't it have a "Revenue Generated" stat tho'?

Excellent.

If you are successful the population of the town will increase
So it's not employment, schools, transport links or amenities which govern desirability now...it's road safety?!

I think I get the idea of this game - it's to persecute motorists as much as possible. That amount of 'road safety equipment' in a town that size is criminal!

Edited to say: When my mobile fleecing machines were removed after 30 days my population rose by 3,000. Hmmmm

Did anyone read the Privacy Statement?

In part it states, "Cambridgeshire Constabulary reserves the right to gather information relating to site usage. Any information gathered is primarily for internal use to allow us to refine and improve the service we provide." (My emphasis).

Two questions (of interest to those who might have submitted a traceable e-mail address):

1) Since there is no definition of "the service we provide" might that include following up registrants on the game site to check their driving when in Cambridgeshire? Data Protection Act 1999 notwithstanding.

and:

2) What secondary purposes are there?

I am late to this thread, but I just went to play this game and decided not to when they asked who I was..

Why is it not anonymous?

Ahhh, I've just worked out the reason behind this so called 'game'...

We're innocently thinking we're playing a game, but they're actually using it to conduct a survey without ot knowledge.

In a few months time they'll be a report stating that "After an exaustive survey, we found that most members of the public would like more cameras, more talivans and more speed bumps.... look here we've got proof, all these people sent in thousands of requests from our website of where to place new revenue grabbing locations."
