Discussion
I was having a discussion in the office with our driver about 14 day limits on for the NIP (he got flashed a couple of weeks back but hasn't heard anything) and I was telling him about the 14 day rule (and the 2nd class post get-out), but we both drew a bit of a blank in terms of the impact of the postal strikes on the 14 day time limit. Does anyone know what would happen if your NIP (or response for that matter) was delayed as a result of something like the current postal strike?
Postal rules in law mean that basically when a letter is put into a working post box or handed to a postman who is collecting mail, the letter is as good as delivered - whether or not it's received.
I believe in this case, as long as the NIP is posted within 14 days, it's still valid.

Plotloss said:They were interviewing some of the strikers on the box last night - our local sorting office is Chelmsford and they are out on strike. They were complaining that due to management pressures it was no longer an enjoyable place to work. That's called 'Welcome to the real world'.
Has this postal strike been done on PH yet?
Its an absolute sham.
