From looking around the posts on here there are some useless replies of the
"You/he/she/they shouldn't have been speeding"...
and
"You/he/she/they should have seen the sign"...
and
"You/he/she/they shouldn't have been naked while parallel parking"...
and
"You/he/she/they should'nt have <> in <>"

None of these are useful, and reflects more on the poster who thinks this is a spark of genius that the recipient hadn't thought of, than the person this is directed toward.

Is it me, or does that seem like a complete waste of time and effort???

Oh, you really shouldn't have!

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and these hallowed forums (or fora) are designed precisely for an exchange of ideas and opinions as well as knowledge.

You don't have to take anyone's "advice" or opinion. You have your own brain cells.

Oh, that I understand, but it's the pointless "you shouldn't haves" which are sooo irritating:

Cardigan wearer:"You shouldn't have beens speeding"

Speedee:"I KNOW I SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SPEEDING. EVERYONE KNOWS I SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SPEEDING. THAT'S WHY I'M BEING DONE FOR SPEEDING. NO SH!T SHERLOCK - GO AWAY AND CARRY ON INSPECTING YER BELLY BUTTON!!!!"

Sorry, Marki, but I'm happily engaged and I'm sure she'd be upset, and I'm sure you're a lovely bloke, but you've not even bought me dinner, or made me feel special and wanted yet...

[thinks] hmmm, he seems to be taking it well...[/thinks]

there is also a big ol chunk of the following:

Speedee: "I was done doing 30.0000009 in a 30. what is the likely penalty?"
Sensible Shoe Wearer:"What car was it in? Was it the A584756 in Idiotville?"
Speedee: "what? No, I really need some advice on penalties and how to progress from here in the quickest and least painful way"
Sensible Shoe Wearer:"Sorry, my mistake. What colour was your car?"...

sorry - you're quite right about most of my and marki's replies. But the observations still stand!

pointless "You should haves" and "had you shaved that morning" answers really shouldn't have a place on THIS particular forum, IMHO. Or am I wrong?

You're wrong! To a point. Take a look at the thread Tonyrec posted about a guy he stopped last night for driving like a tw@t. The guy genuinely believed he'd done nothing wrong. If he'd posted on here saying "bloody BiB wasting my time etc etc", he would have had a load of replies saying "if you hadn't been driving like a tw@, it wouldn't have happened". Sometimes people need the obvious stating to them! But you do have a point in the general scheme of things!
