purple flash!!
Discussion
hello all,
i got flashed once in the face by a small blue camera with a purple colour flash.
i spotted the first one i passed but as i was coming up to the second, some dickhead was driving along the other side of the dual carrigeway with main beam on, needless to say my attention was diverted from watching for cameras to getting said dickhead to sort its lights out.
what a c
t i f
n hate people who can't be bothered to turn their lights back down
anyway end of rant...... (sorry)..... i have a couple of questions :
is this a truvelo ??
how many times does it flash if you get caught??
do they run out of film ??
any answers / ideas for my defence much appreciated.

Thats the infra red flash you saw, so you can see above 700nm then (about 10% of people can). They only flash once I think. It'll light up your face nicely in the photo, so difficult to wriggle outta that one.
"A Prince Charles" is probably the word.
But saying that my mate was flashed by the one on the A43 and never heard a thing.

Are you sure
, saw one the other night triggerd by two seperate cars in a row. It happened 50 yards in front of us, both me and misses saw it flash. Wonder if the second guy didn't see the flash from the first car, might help explain it

Cheers guys (and mrs F),
I think the general consensus is wait and see then eh?
I'm not sure about this "seeing infra red wavelengths" business i can't see the beam from my TV remote
I think i'll just hope that the "purple when not working properly" theory is correct
If the A43 is the dual carriageway between M1 and M40 (past silverstone) then that the b
d that got me too (the second one from the M1 end)
What really bugs me is that this happened in the boring old Peugot 306 at 75-80mph. If i was gonna get three points and a fine i'd much rather it have been for doing 99.9999999mph in the Dax
I guess i'll just sit and wait
