Just a quick question are any of the hand held police speeding devices that look like hairdyers laser or are they all radar system based?

They are Lasers.......Prolaser and LTI-20 20.
We used to have the old fashioned hairdryer type (Muniquip) but as far as im aware they have all been thrown into the bin, where they belong.

lol, I remember (well I remember the story) when they first were used here in Newcastle. The guy got a fright because someone was pointing a gun at him so swerved, straight into someone's garden. He got done for dangerous driving which seems a bit harsh but fair.

Hey tonyrec, (and all other Bib)

Did you see that article about the 'garage opener / laser jammer' in the sunday times?

Just wondered what you thought about it

Yes i did read about it...some piece of kit eh?.......havent come across one in real life yet.

Personally, i wouldnt have one.....ive managed for years simply relying on my driving skills to keep me out of harms way (touch wood eh?).

But sometimes they can be sneaky!

Tony - I guess a civilian talivan operator (trying not to use a 4 letter word) has no power to act over one of these devices anyway?
