Ok Guys.

Please no lectures or jokes, just some good old advice. I have spent 30 mins through this forum but couldn't find a link I was looking for.

I could have been doing 70 in a 40 (usual stuff, dual carriage way 40 limit etc etc). Will be borderline.

I CANNOT afford to loose my licence. Even points would be best avoided.

What's the score about self incrimination and also there were no signs encountered in the half mile journey from my house to the van. I think Reading Police are keeping the money so shouldn't they follow certain signage rule?

A4 west bound. Dual carriage way past 2-ten FM and Golf Club. Slight brow of a hill and there he was hidden on the r/h/s amongst parked cars. Road does narrow there to single and he was 200 metre ahead. I had full visibility and well in control with no other cars near me.

At the end of the day it is a 40 though. Crazy!

Been thinking about it. I'm guessing/hoping I was at about 60. Was decelerating for the road narrowing with plenty of time but didn't realise what the van was until I was closer. Given the range those things have it's hard to judge.

Ahhhh - I thought I'd been done there once too. Came off the lights like a hare on fire, over the brow...and the farmer was there with his gun.

Pop - pop... but the farmer missed

Search the forum for "unsigned NIPs" - you'll find lots of cases. Problem is if you were doing 70 then you'll be heading for court and it may be a different ball game.

Wait for the first correspondance and strike.

Also make sure the signs are correct! Check www.abd.org.uk for info.

Also have 3 links to articles about camera vans in Reading/Thames Valley on a new page to go on the petition web site www.saferroads.co.uk

This is in final pre-launch stage. Not long now...

I know that stretch of road.... In fact I'm sure that used to be a derestricted a couple of years back. Outside of rush hour I can easily see why you hit 70mph.

I think skid is referring to signs warning of the presence of the 'talivan' - Streaky

Not much legal complaint can be made about camera warning signs.

Sadly they are only required in order for the scameraships to keep the hypothecation money (clawing back the costs). They have no legal basis in law

Hi Guys,

Yes I was thinking along the lines of the camera warning signs rather than speed signs.

As there were none how can I find out if the Police are trying to keep the cash and if there is a discrepancy here can it invalidate their case???

Also has anyone heard of a web site where skint non driving students put themselves up for points etc in exchange for cash?????

Anyone know of any volunteers??? ha ha ha

I feel a lynch mob building! ha ha

I appreciate the BIB have a job to do and some poor scrote can only find employment working for the scamera partnership and has the pleasure sitting in a van all day, but when it can someones career etc it does bloody worry you how vunerable our lives are when your means to get to work is removed from you.

Sure I know the arguement is an innocent person could suffer the same through a negligent speeder but the ratio is way out of kilter.

Anyway, I was speeding and 'hopefully' it's only a 3 pointer. Does anyone know the speed over 40 where it becomes a court case???? It's not 70, I think there is some other ratio.

Mark

Puggit - what decent motor you going to get then?

Hi, new here

It must be a while since that stretch was NSL - it was 50 until a couple of years ago, and is now 40 all the way from the town centre to the M4.

I say: dual it all! There's no shortage of money.
