Will my insurance go through the roof??
Discussion
Hi chaps. After a bit of advice please
OK, a bit of background info first.
About 6 years back i had a drink drive conviction (naughty i know, but that was back in my more wreckless days!) which my insurance don't seem to worry about, but is still on my license. No points incured.
In May 2002, I got a 2 week ban for speeding, but no points. 48 in a 30. A ban because it went to court.
Last July I got 3 points for motorway speeding.
And this morning I got a bloody NIP though for doing 80 on a dual carrigeway (mobile
van!). So this will be a further 3 points i guess.
So 3 speeding convictions, but only 6 points.
My insurance currently don't know about No.3 conviction (from last July), and then there's this new one from today.
I drive a Chimaera, and my premium is currently about £1300.
Is my premium going to skyrocket through the roof? Anyone clued up on this at all. Cheers for any replies guys.

Fair point, the only reason I haven't told the insurance about the last speeding conv was that my car has been off the road for quite some time, so I was putting it off for a while. But now this new NIP has reared it's ugly head and the car is back on the road I'll be telling all to the Insurer as soon as I know the outcome of this present NIP.
Just wondering how much of a dent in my pocket (or at worst - refusal to insure) I can expect.

I really have no idea so im just guessing , i would say about another £100 on your premium ,
Well thats not nearly as bad as I thought!
I seem to remember some insurance guy telling my that 3 points (due to SP30 or alike) is pretty much ignored, whereas two SP30's affect premium. Not sure where I stand on have three convictions but only two of them incured points though.
I've just been having horrible thoughts today of having to sell the car due to sky high insurance. I'm a bit of a pesamist when it comes to these things!!
