What do you reckon?

Instead of being oh so naughty and blowing scameras up, burning them and defacing them, (yes i know, its a shocking suggestion!
), why dont the proponents of direct action change tack?
What i mean is, instead of attacking the scameras directly, paint a message on the road over the measurement lines in white paint. Preferably the word " NO! " as large as possible.
Itd render the calibration lines useless at minimal damage, so no nasty 3 year penalties.
Also the message would be seen by ALL road users at that point.
What ya think? Have i gone doolally tap? Have i flushed my last functional braincell down the proverbial?
Have i got an ingrowing keyboard?
Over to you......

Why not place marker signs similar to motorway junctions?
Nice 300, 200, 100 yard (meter?) markers with camera signs on them. That would slow people down for accident blackspots without emergency braking...
But this doesn't work, even the DfT says so and is trying to persuade councils not to use them.
good idea deltaf. Also the closing of the road to repaint it, will annoy enough other drivers in the tail back to get fed up of cameras too, rather than just remain under the level of apithy toward it. (or will they just hate protestors? -naa, that would mean they are agreeing with the camera..)
no no no.
burn them, crush them, Fill them (with expading foam) just so long as they are destroyed.
if a scamera doesnt work people cant get caught and it costs the partnerships money to replace them. money they scammed and fleeced.
for gods sake make them work hard for their profit margins

Was only a suggestion.....

Impotence and brain damage is a prerequesite for employment in the "talivan corps", no doubt about it.
Its the only way they can, er, ahem, "get their rocks off", by pointing a toy laser gun at folks, wielding power in such a manner.
Dont let anyone tell you differently, these guys are virtual eunuchs.
"Wood" is a timber like substance to them, as they have no conception of what the other variety is.
As with all impotent, brain dead freaks, they also have NO balls.
Oh alright then, they do, but theyre mincey faggot balls..........

What doesn't work? The countdown markers to junctions? Or the camera signs? Sorry to be thick.
On the suggestion, I like it. A two-tier approach to getting the message over.

Why doesn't someone paint the speedlimit on the back of them, might stop the numpties braking to 50 by the one on the A40 at Swakeleys going into town.

I have never seen countdown markers to speed cameras - are you seriously telling me there are some out there, but they are frowned upon?v8 westy said:
why not just paint over the calibration lines! what effect would that have
I understood that for mobile cams they used an overlay on the 2 pictures to measure the distance travelled and calculate the speed - don't know why they can't do this on the permanant ones as well should the lines become obscured.

As I keep saying the only problem with that is that they will invest in more mobile cameras, the sites of which are harder to learn.
Personally I want fixed sites which my Geodesy will warn me of, instead of mobile sites which it doesn't!

The perfect solution to stop all this rubbish forever is for everyone to plead not guilty. Game over. Government would move on and tax air consumption instead.

An earlier post in this thread also contained a good idea. Sitting on the horn when going through a scamera or a talivan location - given that many of the sites are chosen because of an influential lentil-munching tree-hugger or two living close by, it might help to get the point across that many of us normal motorists are totally fu
