I was parked in guildford (legally) today and went a little over on my pay and display. Came out and warden was midway through issuing ticket (punching detail into his machine). I drove off (not violently or recklessly and i wasn't rude or abusive) and just ignored his requests for me to take the ticket.

Am i right in thinking the ticket wont be valid because it wasn't served by sticking it on my car? Or can i expect something in the post?

I did this once before in London and never heard anything more.

What do you think?

It sounds like it. I thought it had to be put on your car in order for it to be valid.
