Sure it wasn't an ANPR van?

Is it disguised as a panel van based motor caravan? Also watch out for a blue 'builders van'... The camper is regularly used in the car park by Derwent Water, as it blends in with all of the others tea-brewers there.

No sure it wasnt ANPR (that was further down the road) and it was a normal transit style van in white.

I assume everybody is aware of the former liveried vans, now painted dark green and dark blue, with no markings..?

The 'builders' vans (mentioned above) and the 'motor caravan' are all Peugeot Boxers, I believe.

A biker told me Derbyshire have their very own Brunstromesque horsebox trailer now.

Not true, is it...?

I didn't think police (etc) used vehicles that old?

They were using an unmarked X reg Honda Accord Type R a few years ago, M1, J24 ad further north.

The VRM given relates to a Vauxhall Movano, not a Transit.

OK my van type recognition isnt as hot as it should be, what I can tell you is it was white had a single black window on the drivers side and had a speed camera stuck through the window.

The old blue van, often seen on Longhill between Buxton and Whaley bridge is now a white van, also unmarked. I've seen it on the A6 and the A515, it's pretty easy to spot when you're approaching it from the back because of the windows, however from the front it would be easy to miss and zoom past it. I now get twitchy everytime I see a van parked up.....

im worried now cos i was in derbyshire on sunday.
hathersage-bakewell-matlock-buxton-whalley bridge.

been ages since i was riding round there and think
from matlock to buxton it used to be nsl so id go
an indicated 70ish so about low-mid 60's real.

on sunday i found it was all a 50mph! ridiculous.
long straight nice roads ruined by nothing better to do's again.

anyway saw 1 or 2 white/unmarked vans parked up but none facing me.
didnt check when i went by to see if there was
the black opened window and if they were scammers.

wasnt fixated on speed, you have to concentrate more
on a bike (compared to when i drive my car), but i must have gone
over 50 at times, though def not over 70.
it was just a relaxed bimble in glorious conditions
on what used to be a nice nsl road.

so 50/50 chance of being done i reckon IF they can get
you when you go by as opposed to being oncoming.
if this is a new tactic, the combo of this tactic,
unmared vans and ridiculously low limits have conspired against me.

for any high horse tellers off lurking please dont bother,
it will change nothing, although i would appreciate
any input about camera vans catching people going by
them as opposed to being oncoming.

Im 100% on this. I saw it in the parking area opposite Derwent Water a couple of months ago and I clearly saw the man and the equipment inside. The road used to be NSL, now needlessly 50mph...

Sorry to say this Ash but I think thats exactly why they are using unmarked vans get you on either side of the road according to derbyshire safety camera partnerships website, as for the nsl now being 50's it hasnt stopped the fatal accidents but its now far easier to prosecute those breaking the limit.

cheers for the input. might stay away from there
regardless of outcome. we'll spend our money elsewhere.
underhand tactics like this could get people to buoycot
the area one day as a protest and rightly so.
probably never happen but imagine if enough people avoided
the area to make it suffer economically.
money is afterall their main concern.

i'm not doubting they've changed the style again, infact i'm half expecting a burger van or similar next! thanks for the warning, will watch out for it
