Seen it twice in the last two days with the driver in the process of giving someone a ticket

Where have you seen it ?
Does it ever go north ?

I've seen it in the same place twice, just after junction 3 southbound (as I am heded north) at around 7.30am

I haven't seen it heading north....yet!

Maybe it takes the A30 to go back North

If it doesn't go north there must be a lot of grey Volvo's in the Southampton area

Let me put you minds at rest. Hampshire Police have a number of unmarked traffic cars, all now Volvo S70 and S60 T5 saloons. It is little use trying to work out where they are. There are traffic depts based all over Hampshire and the unmarked cars get moved about between the stations on a regular basis!
Far better to learn to spot one. Biggest clue is the two men wearing fluorescent jackets in the front!

And they always follow you at that "safe out of sight distance" too! Eagle eyes here always spots em miles away (touch wood)
