no front plate
Discussion
What would the Bibs do when a car has no front plate?
Car in question is a seven and just looks silly with a front plate. Stick ons are an option but prefer the naked look.
I have been pulled over by a Bib previously who took a good look over the car - didn't notice the plate missing. He did comment when he couldn't see the tax disc which is low down on the muffler (heat stops scotes nicking it off the seven) He advised I should put it back on the windscreen as this is the law.
I could not see the point as I will soon have no windscreen (aeroscreen). Also would they pull someone over driving a car with no windscreen wearing a helmet?

Last Monday I lost my front plate when:
Bambi mashed the front of my car, big time mess at 60mph, the front bumper is ok'ish but my "NEW 2 week old" number plate was no where to be seen. (Bambi was no more also i'm afraid to say)
I've ordered a new one, it'll be a few days, but all week have been driving around without it, knowing its only a £30 fine.
Yesterday I passed two parked trafpols on the A303 & in Newbury I was expecting a stoppage but nothing. I even smiled & acknowledged one as I passed.
They both saw me clear as day.

I was pulled for this about 3 or 4 years ago (after I wheelspun from some lights in a loud-piped TVR with a dodgy handbrake and... never mind...
) - I got a chitty saying that if I was pulled again in the next 6 months I'd be strung up by the bollocks in Asda car park. Or some such. Anyway, I went home, got the plate out of the garage and taped it back on
Funnily enough, it was just around the time that ANPR cameras started becoming popular...

James here:
I am 99.99% certain the penalty for NO number plate is £30 NON endorsable. With my clean license I drive around with one...with more points I'd be temped to have it fall off. My only problem is I park 50 yards from the exit to Derbys Police station....probebly wouldn't be too long for a producer
Do any PHers work out of Derby?
