During my normal working week driving for a couple of hours a day on busy motorways, I would be lucky to see 1 trafpol patrolling.

However on my journey up the M1 on Sunday morning, I passed 5 trafpols - all of whom had someone pulled over on the hard shoulder!

This was after 10am so I'm guessing they weren't morning after drink drivers... so speeders?? (Well I bet the biker that was getting a lecture was!)

I saw the same about 4 or 5 pulls on a journey along the A303 - A34

But what was this?: A VOSA (new dvla/private partnership) unit on a bridge on the A34 southbound with two fold out speed trap signs up & two of what looked like ANPR/Specs units up. Was this part of a mobile SPECS system!!!!!??????

Yep. Sunday seems to be a popular day for patrols around our way. A few reasons I think:

1) Overtime on a Sunday is probably good.
2) Saturday nighters driving on Sunday morning might be over the DD limit - so catching them is a good thing.
3) Sunday drivers are out so catching them behaving like total numpties is a good thing.
4) Car Club antics often happen on Sunday and so patrolling on a Sunday nets a good few of us speeding I'll bet...

All in all I'll bet Sunday morning is a fine time to be a Trafpol. And so long as they leave my "private test track" alone so I can still enjoy myself then more power to 'em.
