1) fill in the ACTUAL NIP form...OR can I attach my "registered owners details" on a separate piece of paper ( is it compliant with S172 or RTA '88 ?)

2) give my driver number - from my driving license ?

3) at the same time as returning the unsigned NIP should I ask for the photo evidence to identify the driver....or should I ask for this in a later letter ?

cheers

Get your wife to fill it in, or soliciter, by saying " please discharge my legal obligations with respect to this document".
They fill it in, they DONT sign,(neither do you) and they cant be forced to give evidence against you.

(maybe im wrong tho.. ask the BIB's on here theyre knowlegeable!)

Ah yes, you are required to provide that one, but not to sign. Your driver ID number varifies your ID under section 172.

All very well but does not Section 172 RTA 88 request that the Reg Keeper give such information as to I.D. of driver HE MAY BE REQUESTED TO GIVE by or on behalf of C.O.P. On the form does not C.O.P. ask for name and address? In which case submitting Driving Licence number does not comply with the law.
