lol was prompted by the one in general gassing mate!
Just occurred to me that a lot of fun could be had.
I mean, can they charge you with arson, if you set fire to the ruins of a building?
Im just thinking that itd deffo make a statement, and imagine if you pulled by the plods for it and your excuse was: "it was already burnt, so i thought id burn it again"...... or " the flames were dying down so i threw a bit more petrol on it"......As long as you didnt START the fire? I wonder!

Good question......
It would certainly be the same offence, because, hypotheticly you couldnt burn it exactly the same way, apart from the fact that you would, in the extreme....be burning agian something that has already been burnt. Then theres always the offence of Attempting to cause Criminal Damage.

Damaging something thats already been wrecked tho TC?
Surely itd not be the same offence?
Suppose someone ELSE set fire to it, and instead of attempting to extinguish it (lord knows why ...
) you just fuelled it a bit?

I think that you have to look at it in the right context.
If the camera was just a pile of ashes then it wouldnt be Criminal damage, you would, as has already been mentioned, need sectioning pretty damn quickly.
However, if the camera was burnt out and you were seen to set it on fire again, then Criminal damage would be the offence that i would certainly arrest you for.It may well not get you to court though, as it all depends on the degree of damage and any other witnesses etc.
It would certainly get me back to a nick for a cup of tea me thinks.
