Good to see the BiB checking drivers for Drinking and Driving last night on streets of Bristol.

They were also noting registration numbers, immediately prior to sending me on my way they asked for and made a note of my name. Obviously I gave them this information, but I am curious as to what use they can have for this information as there was no attempt to check this against any data base before sending me off.

Edited to say, oi Silverback, don't suppose you were on Whiteladies Road at about 8.25pm last night?

They would have recorded it against either a +tive or -tive Breath test, purely for those very accurate statistics

Far too easily done!

Yes, indeed. In Sweden I hear its the done thing to have your own breath tester...not for checking you can still drive home...but for the morning after..to work out if you need to book a day's hols or, more realistically, "phone a sickie"...

Nope wasnt slippery, guy was definately pissed, spot on the speed limit and all over the road, was also taking the backroad route rather than the main road which i reckon is always a pretty good sign.

They also tend to have another reason for stopping people but might as well do a breath test while they are at it .

Anyway, don't they just need to "think" you might have been drinking so any slight wobble of the steering wheel and you get pulled.
