I checked on directline.com, if I pay a £60 PFN my insurance would go up 10% (as would any Fixed SP, TS, PC offence).

However if hyperthetically I didn't sign the NIP and lose the case I would get a MS90 (failure to supply details) which would raise the premium 33%

That seems a little unfair - not sure how a driver who fails to supply details is a third more risky than one who does....

Direct Line are run by a fascist - he recently implied that people who had had a speeding conviction will have other 'life style failings' Anyway Direct Line are hardly the cheapest on line co now - they are freewheeling on their reputation and public inertia - I dumped them last year at a saving of 18%

Suggest a few more do so.

I have my cars with Norwich Union Direct...seem very good to me and also competitive. They have recently moved some of their call centres to India...I hope they maintain the high service standards that I have enjoyed in the past otherwise I will be looking for a new insurer!

Yep. Dumped 'em myself. Cheapest I've ever found was IAM Select but did not cover track days so I couldn't use them. DL were the next cheapest but also would not cover track days so they can f*** off as far as I'm concerned.
