Last night after a few bevvies in the pub, popped into the gents as you do.........what the hell do I see on the bog wall?

Poster for the "National Scamera Partnership Teams" picture of a christmas tree with speed sign baubles & cars as decoration. Something about saving more than lives?, more like spending all the cash as we have nothing better to do with it. Utter utter B******S this is what their wasting all their money on!.

Not a word about caution or pay attention, just self promotion this has got the most annoying poster I have EVER seen, can I write in and complain??, shall we all write in and complain to the advertising standards people?

I'll see if I can dig a copy up on the net.

Oh yeah - Happy New Year!!!!!!!

Looks like they are promoting themselves like they say they arnt.

The advertisement is forthcoming of a large UK business venture. May their testicles be removed from their bodies and inserted into places mankind will never hope to see.

Just sent this:

To whom it may concern,

My attention has been drawn to this:

[JPEG of image]

Which I gather appears in print elsewhere than on your website.

What a piece of self-aggrandisement! Not one word about better driving, just promotion of the so-called "Safety Partnership".

I thought the monies received from fines were supposed to be ploughed back into road-safety.

Pray tell me how this achieves that?

Yours,
M Bacon

"Saving more than lives"

Now we know that scameras don't exactly save lives, but what is this 'more' that the poster talks of?

I can't think of anything else that scameras save apart from scamera operator jobs!

Is it me, or does the scamera at the top have a smile on its face? Think!(ing) about the 60 quid it has just stuck into their coffers no doubt.

The landlord obviously gave permission for this so why are you still in the pub? I would have left for another pub and if I was in a bad mood the landlord would have a rolled up poster sticking out of his arse.

Here is the reply I (just) received:

"
Dear [Streaky],

The advertisement to which you refer was published by the National Safety Camera Liason Group to be distributed nationally and sponsored by the Government. 'Better Driving' can incorporate many factors, but this particular campaign is aimed at raising awareness of speed limits, hence the strapline, Think ! Speed Limits.

The Suffolk Safety Camera Partnership is self financing, i.e only drivers that break the law contribute to the costs of managing the cameras. In addition to enforcement it is essential that we must undertake educational campaigns to inform and involve the general public about the dangers of inappropriate and excess speed. Drink Driving is now socially unacceptable thanks to a campaign that has been running for 10 years and only sustained exposure will remind drivers of the dangers. We hope that it does not take as long for drivers to understand the dangers of excess speed. Our objective is accident reduction and this can be achieved through, engineering, enforcement and education.

I trust this answers your query.

So that's OK then .

An emotionally based campaign that has had no success (remember the figures posted this xmas?)and these prats blindly follow the same methods to extract the same result for speeding, zero.
