Bristol has always ben a nightmare for speed cameras, the company I work for has an office in Bristol and I hate having to go to it. The place is littered with half-hidden cameras and Bristol itself seems to be devoid of speed limit signs.

This just make the whole thing worse; well another reason to avoid the place when I can.

I do however love this quote from the article:

"Dave Gollicker, spokesman for the Avon and Somerset Safety Camera Partnership, said: "The Highways Agency, as one of our partners, approached us with concern about the number of accidents and fatalities that there have been on that stretch of the motorway. We carried out our research to see whether it met the criteria and it does."

So, we just have to take his words for it that it meets the criteria, no figures, no statistical back up, just more 'Trust me, I know what I'm doing'. It like the Saddam Hussan character from South Park (please note any newspaper types reading - this is my personall opinion - not that of Pistonheads or any of its readers).

Its good to see the RAC having a moan about this, but its does amaze me that the people of Bristol put up with this, cameras in this area must be making a fortune.
