Reg 32 Con and Use Regs 86 states visual transmission for light through a w/screen glass has not to be less than 70 per cent (Vehicle used before 1.4.85) 75 per cent first used after 1.4.85.

No 5 Amending Reg of recent times states that also applies to any tint, film or other substance applied to w/screen.

......percentage specified when measured perpendicular to the surface in accordance with the procedure specified in a document - B4 1.4.85 - BSS 857 or 5282 - after 1.4.85 the documents mentioned in sub para (i)(ii)or (iii) of the definition in para (13) of "specified safety glass (1980)" of which I have neither (nor any desire to own - speak to Bro?)

Would presume, in the line of common sense, that it is more important for a driver to see out rather to see in, I would submit the former applies.
