This is starting to really f
k me off!
Our next door neighbour seems to be some kind of junky who plays his music loud pretty much every night until the early hours of the morning. I have had to go across a couple of times to tell him to turn it down.
Now they have stepped over the line! Woke up this morning to find my Fience sleeping downstears, aparently she banged on the wall to get them to turn the music down, this caused them to jump over our fence into our garden to shout abuse!!!
Is there anything I can do apart from nuke them from orbit (the satilite is down)

Environmental Health, which is local authority dept. are your allies. Call them for a chat, they can advise both the legal position and the practical next steps.
Very helpful bunch generally; they are constrained by the legal framework that they implement but generally excellent.

Unfortunately IME the council do diddly squat unless you have evidence and plenty of it showing that the noise nuisance has been going on for some time.
When you call them they send you an 'information sheet' telling you to note down dates and times when the noise affects you after a month or so of being driven out of your skull by the noise you send the diary to them, they then send the noisy so-and-so's a letter stating that if they don't behave they will be in trouble...so it goes quiet for a while. Then a few weeks later it goes all noisy again...you complain to the council, they send you an 'information sheet'.......
Better you just go over there and break all his fingers so he can't turn the stereo on or up...only kidding...

I have to say my experience is the opposite - though it depends on your local authority. Its a statuary duty, so keep escalating if they don't do anything initially. When you call them they send you an 'information sheet' telling you to note down dates and times when the noise affects you after a month or so of being driven out of your skull by the noise you send the diary to them, they then send the noisy so-and-so's a letter stating that if they don't behave they will be in trouble...so it goes quiet for a while. Give them a chance to sort things out, and they are still unresponsive, get your local councillor on side and they will apply pressure on the dept.

CB Radio 'burner' or RF Amp. Basically this is a box which you sit between the CB Radio and the antenna to boost your signal. The more powerful the better...>200 watts.
CB Antenna Something with a magnetic mount base which you could stick onto a radiator nearest the offending neighbours wall. (The antenna needs a large 'ground plane' to work, i.e radiator - don't use it without)
The CB should cause enough interference as to render their sterio useless, but it's not guranteed I'm afraid. When we had noisy neighbours, my old CB made their speakers emmit a very loud buzzing/humming type noise

Sellotape his doorbell down every morning at 0630.
ETA has he got a back gate with a thumb-latch on it? Blu-tack a drawing pin, point up, on the thunb-plate. Then smear dogst on the tack to sstop it being shiny.
Next time nugget neighbour comes in the back gate, he puts his thumb on the latch and presses down. Cue the "OUCH fk IT" exclamation, followed by said nugget then automatically sticking his thumb in his mouth...

When do they sleep? That was my first question when that happened to me.
So I setup my pc to a stereo, parked near there walls, and remotely from work controlled the pc to play hard jungle.. or even mobys 1000bpm track on repeat.

Sadly he owns the house moved in at the start of the year. It also seems a regular rutine to have police come round the close and park outside his house so I guess he is well known to them.
I have given the misses strict instuctions that random guys on our property means "wake me the fk up"
What is the legal reprocussions if I were to accidently knock one of them sensless with a maglight if they were in my garden and started on me? I know a tourch is a harmless weapon but maglights tend to be built with the "smack you in the head" thing in mind (hence why I have one)
