New Truvelo on A575 Bolton Road, Walkden, Mcr
Discussion
Truvelo Scam is about to go active on the A575 Bolton Road.
Again no accident within last 4 years, apart from the chap who mounted a pavement whilst having heart attack! (Subject close to my own heart!). No body was seriously injured at the time. This is only accident any one can recall on this stretch of road.
Site of Truvelo is near a pub and an off-licence. There can be drunken J-Walkers at weekends. There is a school down one side street. But nobody can recall any deaths or serious injuries around the area. (Unless memories are short???)
Do you think the New Manchester Safety Partnership will explain the need for the Truvelo, and the need for speed limit reductions on other "relatively safe" roads in the area?
Manchester has just joined up to Scam Brigade and I remember the spokesperson saying on manchesteronline last December that speed limits will be reviewed across the area!
This sounds like they have started with a vengenace to me!

Like most council/'local community' inspired concepts, this is merely another nail in the coffin of Albionic freedom.
What has to be taken into account is the sheer petty jealousy that typifies the weening mentalities of those that populate local governance in general.
The car, particularly those with internal combustion powerplants, represents the quintessential symbol of that which their mealy-mouthed, socially engineered agendas seeks to oppress.
It is the ultimate manifestation of mobility, individuality and initiative and the more intense the velocity thereof, the more it runs in diametric contravention of all their petty codes of control freakery.
This is the part seed from a much bigger general rant I was germinating but the onslaught from the morons on Town Hall Hill cannot go unchallenged in the quest to banish these devilish days that constitute our increasingly woeful motoring nadir.
Just look at the exdpenditures frittered away by the faceless mandarins quoffing vigourously from the cup of your contributions, how the shameless squandering assumes epic proportions come financial year end...
A cohort of mine is a local builder. He informed me of a small contract just secured to refurbish the putting green jacuzzis of a residential property for retired warriors of the bisexual Tribe of Umbeki Gorge with an income of less than £500k p/a.
Quelle surprise, then, to hear that come the new financial year, the whole gaffe is being entirely gutted and redesigned, thus rendering these immediate alterations both transitory and utterly pointless.
But then 'pointless' is a term that exemplifies much of local councils' generic endeavours.
The game is simple and the motivation outrageously corrupt: profligate waste of other peoples' money on the altar of multiple, bogus local needs, in a desperate spending spree to justify next years' bout of more restrictions, rules and bugger all to cheer.
The plethora of motorist bashing schemolgy, whether speed proscription or carriageway removal, is nothing more than the natural extension borne from the sad, drooling minds clogging an excessively populated island preoccupied with achieving entirely sod all except for the hampering any with the guile to achieve a modicum of self-motivated betterment.
What was it about the devil and idle hands?

DeR as ever, an exemplary post
However, what on earth can be done to reverse this trend?
Like many others I have seen my council tax bill explode on an almost exponential scale over the last couple of years and for what? No local policing (well, none that I can see anyway), and removal of rubbish every fortnight, leading to overfilled rubbish bins, which in turn are ripped open by the local vermin (the foxes get whats left, it seems).
So, what has improved for consumers in my neck of the woods? Well, the road in front of the Council Office is now closed, pedestrianised save for disabled access. And precious little else.
New house building in Daventry has exploded so council income must also have enjoyed a similar rise. However, no reduction in our bill was forthcoming - clearly they have conspired to find other channels in which to piss our money away. Ultimately, they appear accountable to nobody. Carte blanche to fritter away our money on whatever interests them.
Roll on the £2,000 per annum council tax bill.

Nail firmly attacked by frenzied lumpen hammermeister.
A fitting summation of the modus operandum of a thoroughly vile category of workshy socialist vermin.
