The case for justified deliberate vandalism.......
Discussion
I have just deleted my rant promoting vandalism of Gatso cameras. However, liberal rubbish aside. Lets have a decent discussion about whether it is morally right to break out the dynamite or disc cutter.
Having just driven a 3.1L Ford Capri to Gambia for charity with the Plymouth-Dakar rally, my first emotion upon my turn to the UK was to wage war against these "robots from hell". I can get my head around a policeman ticking me off and being a human regarding my situation at the present and letting me off/nailing me as a consequence. These cameras take nothing into account Ie; time of day/driving conditions/car into account. I grant you that the speed limit is a legal bottom line, you can argue the toss on a straight bit of road with no traffic, mummies, children playing, left handed lesbian trombonists distracting you, etc. The speed cameras do not achieve anything (mostly) apart from anger, parasitism, and tyre marks on the road.
I think we should revolt against them. The number one method being out and out destruction of cameras.
The above is only my point. I would appreciate a good discussion about what the correct course of action actually is. Then we may be able to rest assured in the knowledge we/the gatso did really deserve it

Nice idea volvo but I think if you get caught you could be charged with perverting the course of 'justice'.
Thoughts BIB?
Shame though cos if everyone on PH went out now and found a speed camera and accidentally let a black bin back fly off in these winds which coincidentally happened to fall over a camera and then to prevent the bag blowing about and causing an accident selotaped it to the item it had landed on
it would make quite a dent in revenue wouldn't it?

So far we have achieved little in our debate.
Personally I find builders dumpy bags more easy to throw over the top. Also have you seen how high the cameras are?
I think I belong to the whinge bitterly and do nothing school of thought. (Typically British)
The question is;
Is the system within it's moral right (not legal right) to put these cameras up (in certain places)?
If we consider the law (which isn't always morally right) then of course it is illegal to do anything. My point being, if breathing too fast was illegal, running would not be possible.?!?!?! (Ok, bad load of words).
My premise is that these cameras are in fact unnecessary and are present for no positive reasons for the public (all negative in fact) and with no democracy in the placement of these cameras, action will have to be taken in order that true justice be served.
Mr Policeman NB: I have no criminal record or intention of convincing anyone to break a law, or doing so myself. Lets put our preconceptions down and get some reason behind our arguments. Somebody must have some idea?!

There is little we can do as a small group other than keep quoting the facts to anyone who will listen. If the situation gets really bad then a mass protest will happen. All the cameras will then be destroyed at once and the police nor anyone else will stop it. For this kind of action you need thousands of people to be coordinated into what ammounts to an army. The government are not so stupid as to piss everyone off to the extent of causing that to happen. Unlike the french Government of course

Now I wouldn't have thought you would say that.

It can only be a matter of time.
