Ph's
Need some advice for a mate (really is a mate honest Guv)

The mate is going through a really bad time with marriage, work the usual and has been under doctors supervision for depression over the last few months.
They had a few beers with a local mate one evening and decided to try and move the car into a local carpark not 100metres away. Really stupid we know but happened to have the bad luck to smash into a wall by a post office security alert went to the Guards as neighbours thought the person was trying to rob the post office.

The guards were on site within minutes (very pleasant and understanding we should say) there was no damage to any property, persons or any other persons cars And they had not left the private car park onto a public road.

This person has had no Criminal record and an a sterling record with the Guards and community.
the Guards have informed the individual there is a pending court case with at least a 1 year ban.

Question? are there any extenuating circumstances that this person may be able to get a fine and some sort of community service? or even bring the ban down to a 6th month period?

Would really appreciate any help or advice

Read the the above mentioned, Blood test were taken on the night by the Guards and returned the results (not good should we say).
Yeah think I understand what your saying under the circumstances Re: a good Solicitor) I feel the person has been offered a good deal during our meeting (as said the Gardai have been more than fair, mentioned the judge is more than fair in cases of individuals who have complied with the law previously and who has good standing within the comunity.

I think after asking the person to ask for help on PH. The hard truth of the situation has hit them.

We all hope it's a lesson learn't
