less mobile phone drivers?

I have noticed on my travels, an awful lot less drivers using their mobile phones when driving, the main culprit still being taxi drivers and coach drivers ( do they read the coach crash horror headlines?!! )
The funny part is, theres still no one about to arrest you for it...

Does anyone else notice a reduction?

I drove up and down the M40 yesterday. Too many with phone glued to ear to count.

I have two theories:
1. The high publicity about the dangers has made people take notice, and if they did similar campaigns about proper use of lane discipline then people would pay attention to that too.
2. People are being more subtle about how they use their phones...

The Police are now starting to dole out the £30 FPNs for it. That's probably having an effect.

My phone bill has halved this past month!

I used to find it a rather convenient time to make calls when bored on the motorway, especially just to make contact with my clients every now & then.

Now I just stick the radio on & the phone off.

Initially I hated the new law, but after buying a bluetooth headset it's made things a lot easier.... now I have a free hand to smoke!

THAT'S not illegal.... YET!

I had noticed less men on phones, but the ladies don't seem to care... epecially BMW X5 drivers.

depends if your in control of the vehicle, you can still get pulled for that.

Saw some stupid tart in her BMW 3 series yesterday, coming back from Heathrow. First thing I noticed as she took the exit for the M25 was that her passenger-side rear lamps were all out, then as I drove past I hooted at her, and saw she was also on her mobile! Still she was only doing about 70 so she MUST be a safe driver. Rich...

I haven't seen any reduction in the number of people driving and using mobile phones. Same as it ever was round my way. And BMW/Merc drivers are some of the worst offenders, second only to white Corsa/Astra van drivers. And no sign of any Trafpol's to stop them either.

pretty much the same here in essex,the worst offenders here though are either van drivers or women (sorry ladies,no offence meant its just an observation.)
