How often do laser speed detectors need calibratin

Just wonder if laser speed detectors (esp. Cleartone) are required to be calibrated more than annually??
What checks, if any, before/after tour of duty??

Those devices have a calibration certificate, they only need a calibration check in line with the guidlines etc.

If you look at the ACPO website they have an information site for speed enforcement equipment and policy.

So if it was out of calibration when the annual check was carried out, and it was faulty, provided the police told everyone those convicted by it could appeal.

I can see that happening can't you!!!
