Panicking!!! Questions TOO
Discussion
Driving mildy down the Windsor Relief Road this morning, the nice workmen were coning off one lane, so after sitting in traffic I get to the end of the cones and accelerate passed all the cars still doing 20. I honestlt dont know the speed I got to but maybe in excess of the 70 limit (I accelerated rapidly and then lifted off).
I had seen a black Seat two cars behind and thought nothing of it, he didnt accelerate after me down the relief road, but when i got to the bottom, whilst I was stopped at the roundabout I heard sirens and saw said Seat screaming up behind us with blue lights flashing away in the grill. HOWEVER, he turned right, I went left.
Just wondering if this was a traffic car, any way to tell and how does Vascar work? Would he have stopped me if Trafpol after coming after me down the road (assuming he was after me?)

A Traffic car you will find is liveried up in various colours etc with blues on top of roof.
Plain Traffic/CID car will have no markings and can have the blue lights as you mention as can Fire Brigade Chief.
Vascar - Visual Average Speed Computor and Recorder
Works by measuring the distance between two reference points - road side features - from which it can time
vehicles to travel between the two points and by Time and Distance switch flicking, equipment comes up with an average speed. Can be used in a multitude of ways and even head on.
From what you describe you were the least of their interest whoever it was.

I saw a black Seat Ibiza on Saturday on the A30 going from Bagshot towards the A322.
Nothing unusual about about that except that he had his blues and twos going - lights hidden in the grill - and he was giving it some serious welly.
For the few seconds we saw him - 1 big guy on his own - I did not notice any dash or windscreen-mounted cameras, etc .... (but only got a real quick glance).
If it's the same car then he was off his patch - TVP L .... unless he's royal protection - which might be possible - what with Edward/Sophie in Bagshot and Queenie in Windsor - possible.
