They are at it again.

It's because we let them get away with it. Whatever your opinions on their message you cannot deny that they are second to none at getting their message out into the media all the time. If it is not transport 2000 it is brake or roadpeace they are all highly effective at sound bites. If some one had asked how was the question asked on their phone poll and internet poll then they might have not had an answer but they never give that information only what they want to say. If only the local authorities were as good at getting the message out that they were going to reduce speed limits. I read in the local Bristol rag that the A38 from Almondsbury to Rudgeway is to have a new 40mph limit and the road to the motorway by Leyhill prison is also being reduced. The decision has been made I look and have not seen the proposals so no opposition. And on the A38 they have taken a lovely fast open road which is almost dual carriagway width and made two cycle lanes about 10 feet wide so the cars and trucks now only have a normal urban road width to drive in so they need to slow them down to avoid head ons. And the bike? well the one I have seen on it was still having to weave around the potholes in the cycle lanes forcing the cars to swerve into the opposite carrigways. Roll on the day when I can move abroad to a country which isn't run by fringe pressure groups and listens to people not think tanks. France appeals to me can you imagine any british goverment having the balls to say no to any religious group, let alone muslims, yet they have banned religious clothing from schools for the beterment of everyone not just the loudest in scociety.
There must be millions who don't want revenue cameras.
This "survey" was probably run in a manner similar to one my local authority ran a couple of years ago.
They canvassed opinion by house-to-house survey and took down details of anyone who was in favour of their plan (road humps and other congestion-creating initiatives).
Guess what they did to those who opposed the plans? ...they didn't take down your details! / they weren't interested! (I was there, this isn't heresay..and it makes me very angry to think that we have these twisted, basically corrupt twits in such positions of authority.)
