....and I deserved it because of the obvious, but all the police that have pulled me up previously differ from my experiences, some let you off some give you half the penalty and other won't budge. This is the bit that makes me well kinda angry, its like they are in a good mood so they take pitty and let me off, but sometimes you can see it in their eyes and oh no nothing will budge. Anyway a little consistancy would be nice

Naughty naughty! How could you do such a thing? Your as bad as a burgler or a rapist or murderer.

What speed were you doing, and in what limit? Clear, straight road by any chance?

I may have been done this morning, but not sure, I saw him just as I came round the corner, I braked but not sure if I did in time, I was doing just under 60 in a fifty. The road used to be a NSL, it's perfectly safe and he was parked on a straight piece of road with no houses or junctions.

Guess I will just have to keep my fingers crossed, how long will I have to wait if he did get me?

I think it depends on who's running the partenership. Avon and Somerset scamera partenership sent mine in 4 days (was done on Tuesday, got the NIP on Saturday). A mate got done in S. Wales and got the NIP 6 day later (done on the Sunday, got the NIP on Saturday). Thinking about it does they always arrive on Saturdays just to ruin your weekend?

Mrs Fish - with your PH record I would expect you to know that if the car is registered at your address to yourself it will take 14 days or less

Good Luck - come and visit SP&L if you wish to escape

Hi was doing 79km in a 50km industrial area round the corner from work. Was a wide road one of those long boring roads where you feel like your doing 30km and not getting anywhere. The police were tucked away around a corner. They were kind enough to show me their recordings on the lazer for proof and said we will write it down that you did 65km, which meant a cheaper fine and less demerit points.

Here are some general fines you can face and demerit points system we have, in NZD.

Not wearing a seatbelt $150.00
Going through a red or amber light $150.00
Not having your driver’s licence with you $55.00
Not holding a current driver’s licence $400.00
Breaching a condition of your licence
(also incurs 25 demerit points) $400.00
No current warrant of fitness $200.00
No current registration $200.00
Not having an up to date Road User
Charges Distance Licence three times the cost
of the missing licence

What is the scale of demerit points for traffic infringements?

1-10 kms/h 10 demerit pts
11-20 kms/h 20 demerit pts
21-30 kms/h 35 demerit pts
31-35 kms/h 40 demerit pts
36 kms/h and above 50 demerit pts

If you get 100 or more demerit points within 2 years, you will be suspended from driving for 3 months.

I got about 50 in the last two years so am o.k.
