Driving along the wilderness road in middlesbrough, I spotted a roadside camera (one of hte big black boxes with a van), jumped on the anchors and proceeded to do what read about 24 on my speedo. Problem is, I have had 14" alloys fitted, were as the car came with 13" wheels as standard so obvioiusly the speedo is now innacurate. How do I know how fast I am going?

Also, The camera actually flashed (yes, into oncoming traffic) as I was approaching it (it being on the opposite site of the road, facing me). I was a fair distance away, and there was a pug 105 a lot closer, is it likely it was me that got flashed?

borrow one of those little Etrex GPS recievers. Gives speed to an accuracy of 0.1 MPH.
Tried one on my Golf GTTDi. Reads about 7% fast up to 75MPH then catches up and becomes accurate from about 85MPH upwards. (not that I was on a public road of course to test this!)
The girlfriends Seat Ibiza reads a consistant 10MPH Fast.
GOod stuff.
