According to something I was reading earlier:

THE FACTORS AS USED BY THE DfT AND TRL TO DEFINE "SPEED" ARE:

1) EXCESS SPEED (includes inappropriate speed)

2) OTHER SPEED,includes
a) BEND/WINDING ROAD
b) IGNORED LIGHTS AT CROSSING
c) AGGRESSIVE DRIVING
d) INTERACTION/COMPETITION WITH OTHER ROAD USERS

3) FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE

4) IN A HURRY

5) LOSS OF CONTROL

6) POOR OVERTAKING

7) SUDDEN BRAKING

Well maybe that explains their 1/3 then!

Maybe they'd like to explain this to both the Bib and the public..?

i suppose, using their logic, 100% of accidents are due to speed as at least one of the parties has to be in motion. dunno why they dont just bin the 33% lie and start with the 100% one. (unless youre not in a car but on a bus, or in a taxi or on plane out of here on holiday, which seems all the more likely given the wages paid to the idiots that come up with this crap).

Click on www.abd.org.uk/ and then the speed link. Explains how they manage to get seven percent of speed related accidents up to one third.

Total number of collisions is 2726

Fatal collisions stand at 76

The number of serious injury collisions is 442

The number of slight injury collisions is 2726

They cant even add up properly:
76+442+2726 = 3244 on my calculator.....
or 2726-76-442 = 2208
Numpties....
