The Basingstoke and District Group of Advanced Motorists are running a free "Better Driving" course on

*Thursday 11th March (Evening)
*Thursday 18th March (Evening)
*Sunday 21st March (Morning)
*Thursday 25th March (Evening)

The venue will be in the Richard Aldworth School in Basingstoke.

If any local PHers are interested you must book ahead by phoning Shirley Goodwin on 01256 781 173.

The senior group members sometimes ask Observers to come along to the lecture sessions so I may be there for one of them. Generally the course contains a demonstration drive where you get to be a passenger with an Observer describing the techniques they are using whilst tootling along. That's likely to be on the 21st I'd say - I can't be there as I will be doing Brunters that day.

Find out about our local group here: www.motorists.fsnet.co.uk/

BTTTT.

Hey. Anyone out there? We all talk about Driver Training as the way forward. Who's actually going to get some, eh? FREE! Gratis! For Nothing!

(Doing an IAM exam/course does cost money but this introductory course is actually FREE!!!!)

Not sure to be honest, Paul. I suspect that there will be enough Observers for the demo drives. If I am told by the chaps in our group organising that they are short I will be sure to let you know.

Unfortunately it clashes with Brunters which I had booked up some months ago and so I cannot be there - otherwise I'd be doing my bit...

I'm probably a terrible driver so I could probably do with this, and it's just down the road.

Don, dont come in general gassing any more so only just seen this whilst looking for an old thread.

Are you doing any of the driving in the Porker/Tiv? If so I'll meet you on evening for a bit of a blat.

(this is probably not the sort of thing you are supposed to be doing but I wont tell!)

It all depends on what times this is happening. Everything is a bit hectic just lately but I may be able to meet with you after work one day.
Feel free to email me via link in profile.

WVM, DanBoy: If you decide to go along remember that you *must* book ahead. The course is "structured" so its better to attend the whole thing - just doing one session may get you a few useful tips but the course is "more than the sum of its parts" as it were...

Dusty: I suspect that the drives are being done on the Sunday and I won't be there as I will be hooning down the runway at Bruntingthorpe that day...

Basingstoke needs better drivers.
I did my full motorcycle test there 18 months ago.. 5 emergency stops because people kept pulling out infront of me and cutting me up.
I passed the test, and im lucky to be alive!.

If you needany help, I'dd be glad to help out
