i love speed cameras
Discussion
as someone who likes driving fast, and who mainly uses the same roads everyday for going to work and to mates house etc, i think speed cameras are excellent, i know where they all are, so can slow down just before i get there, then speed up when i pass them so i never get caught, and cos of all these cameras there are hardly any police on the roads so i can go as fast as i like.
so in actual fact i like speed camera as now we can driver faster with less risk of getting pulled up by the police.
if they ban cameras and start getting more police back on the road then i might have to start to slow down just in case.
anyone else agree?

Ha! Actually there is a story behind that number! When I registered I thought it was the registration of an old Lotus Elise I owned back in 1997 and I was interested in buying it back and this would be a way of jogging memories. However I've got the number totally wrong so who this belongs to is anyones guess!!

fixed ones yes, same for me commuting same way every day, but hubby has been caught twice with the poxy vans. road angel now installed
Beware. I asked Road Angel/Blackspot if they would record the location of mobile traps and they said clearly "NO"
You can log your own but that isn't much use in a strange area. Also, if you have the laser detector and it is triggers, it's too late. It zaps your vehicle in 0.3 of a second.
I am not convinced that plod's laser beam is wide enough to scatter and allow detection in your vehicle when a vehicle in front is zapped.
I have been lasered twice ( under the limit -- why was I lasered?) and on both occassions there was nothing in front of me when my Bel 980 shouted "Laser Alert"
Take care
I have to agree.... Chances of seeing plod are about zero now. I am an otherwise law abiding citizen, but when the sun comes out I am seriously considering a micro flip-up plate and a blacked out visor.
I am 39, own house, parent, responsible job etc.... It's getting silly when I have to consider this, but the present system means that I am giving it very serious consideration!!!!!!

all im trying to get at is the present system allowes people to drive faster without the risk of getting caught, yes there are mobile lazer guns etc that can get you, but i live around london and has never seen one in 9 years of driving.
i just wonder how the police themselves feel about their job being taken over by a money making machine?
on another subject, about 2 months ago i was driving home from work, and was speeding a bit, and a volvo was in front of me, i went up close to him, hoping he would pull over anyway just as i was about to flash him, a sign came on at the back of his car saying, POLICE SLOW DOWN, well as soon as i saw that i did and pulled into the inside lane, i flashed my lights to thank him.
i drove home under the speed limit all the way after that. but i thought to myself after that was great police driving, he could have easily pulled over let me pass him and then pulled me over, but just a flash of the sign made me do that and did not take up any of his time, i saw him do that at least another 2 times on that road and everytime the other driver slowed down and pulled into the inside lane, so if he would have stopped me then he would have let another 2 cars speed past him, but cos he just flashed his sign he was able to slow down at least 3 cars on one road.

When the bike comes out again for the summer the mobile units are an irrelevance because you have no front plate.
I thought they could measure your speed as you approach, and take down your plate as you pass. No doubt someone will confirm or contradict this

If you have never seen one then you are either very lucky or rather unobservant (or both I suppose), cos there are hundreds of the b*stards out there. Check out some of the 'safety partnership' websites where they publish locations of mobile sites and you might be surprised!
Or perhaps I am just a bit paranoid.
