North Wales Deputy Chief Con and Black Police

Report in the Daily Post has the Deputy Chief Constable of N. Wales doing a rap at the launch of the N. Wales branch of the Black Police Officers Association.
Can anyone tell us why it not considered racist to have a Black Police Association and what do folks think would happen if someone tried to launch a White Police Officers Association.
I believe police should be colour blind.
It's also interesting to note that N. Wales can hardly be considered a hot-bed of multiculturalism.
The county council has just revealed that in Flintshire, the ethnic population is 0.8% and the largest group is Chinese. I have never heard of the Chinese folk up here making a fuss about race issues. So why do others?
If anyone can tell me how to get a copy of the rap onto this site I will do so. I have scanned it but don't know how to transfer it to here.

Someone's going to decide this is great for race relations and make it compulsory for the Chief Constable selection process.

Very good point. In my (personal) view there is no place for a black police officers association, as there is no place for a white police officers association. It goes against every bit of racial awareness training we are given.
After all, isn't that pure racism.

As for having a Black Police Association, so what?
Minority groups, whether based on race, religion or interest will naturally form associations.
There are I believe many Police associations not related to race or religon at all.

The concern is that if anyone tried to form a White Police Officers Association, it may not be allowed and could even lead to charges of racism.

I think there is a bit of over sensitivity here.
The reason minorities of race, religion or interest form groups outside the majority is to associate with people that share that particular common trait and not necessarily to segregate from the majority.
A sports club, or club/group of any sort comes into this category.
When the majority form a majority only group it is typically to segregate from the minorities, which is a completely different motive from that of the minority groups.
How many non-football-supporters clubs are there that regularly meet every Saturday to get together NOT to watch the football etc etc in reaction to all the football supporters clubs out there?
How many non-religous-believers 'churches' for want of a better description, are there out there?
The idea of setting up a White Police Association does appear to simply be a petty reaction to the setting up of a Black Police Association which does suggest a racial-influenced motive.
