Almost got scamered

This morning I was travelling down the A5104 from chester town centre, minding my own business when I noticed a scamera van on the oppersite side of the road in a layby.

Luckily for me, they were only just setting up (unless they can zap you through the glass door window),and the little flaps in the tops of the doors were still shut down.

But the thing thats annoyed me is that I check the scamera partnerships websites before i go off on my travels incase i'm going to come close to them, to my surprise there is NO mention of it even being in chester at all this week!!!

I was just keeping up with traffic on a long straight section when i spotted them. Their positioning gave them perfect cover with the approching traffic obscuring them from view untill you were within the kill zone.

A check of the speedo as i closed on their position showed 32mph!!!!! but it might have been 35mph 100 yards back

Anyone know what Cheshire scam era partnership have as a trigger on a 30 road?

That'll be an ANPR van then, just checking your reg number against MOT tax & insurance. Also checks registered name against any criminal databases just in case you did a few bank jobs last week & never told them.

They are not speed cameras by the way.

Nah, that will be the one which is clearly signed as Cheshire safety camera partnership *once you get along side it that is!)

The van has been in the same place today....again no mention on the scamera site schedule... but when i passed this time, they had 2 trafpol cars waiting further down the road too

Still, forget the muggins and murders, let's be glad our extra council tax is being used to bring the unholy 33mph brigade to justice.

As Cptsideways says, this is an ANPR van...think about it, why do they need 2 traffic cars if you are speeding? they just post the fine out...the Cop cars are for pulling wanted people.
