Been clamped

my car is sorn and untaxed parke on private land on a private road and i have land owners permission to park there but ive been clamped by a dvla company. who say the dont need permission from land owner to clamp my car. and help appricaited I have removed the car

Pretty sure they take photographs once the clamp is in place.

Just putting it out there, but how about talking to the DVLA about it?

Speak to the DVLA... If not helpful, tell the clamping company if they don;t take it off, YOU will.

Then invoice them for doing so and for the storage of the clamp.

Email the DVLA/clamping company thanking them for their new, forward thinking policy of providing extra security for cars that are SORN but you've proven it's not very adequate.

Are we sure this isn;t a cowboy clamping company, hoping for a few quid to release someone? Can;t really see why the DVLA would go and do that, as much as they are complete bds.

He has his SORN, and is off the public roads... Don't see the correlation.

What I'm saying is that the clamping co could be legit if they don't think he either a) has a SORN or b) has a SORN but think he is on public property.

My son caught DVLA clampers just about to clamp his car for no tax. Despite a perfectly valid tax disk being displayed in the windscreen. They were actually reasonable, and didn't clamp the car, giving him an opportunity to 'sort it out' in 24 hours. Turned out someone else had claimed a refund for the tax disk!

To declare SORN, known as Statutory Off Road Notification, you are going to need the reminder, known as the Vehicle Licence Application/SORN Declaration , also known as the V11, or the Registration Document/Certificate also known as the Logbook.

When SORN has been declared for a vehicle the registered keeper must ensure that it will not be used or kept on a public road until a new licence has been taken out. The declaration will be valid for 12 months unless the vehicle is re-licensed, sold, permanently exported or scrapped.
