Cycling to work....

Riding along on the left of a car in the same lane. Who stops lets another guy on the other side of the road turn right, which was into my path. No chance of stopping, smashed into the car, over the roof, I was knocked out (I think) and dislocated my shoulder

No idea of the condition of the bike, or its where abouts (the ambulance dropped it off somewhere)

Where do I stand in the way of liabilities, personally I think its the cars fault???

Fault wasn't discussed as I was out of it.

Best title ever rofl

Edit;
I'd cut your losses and be a lot more careful in future. Neither driver is at blame, this simply was an accident.

How will it work though? As a cyclist myself I always wonder what would happen if some knocked me off. Chances are, they would make a swift getaway and I would be left in the middle of the road waiting for an ambulance.

Had a near miss similar to yours the other day. Car next to me decided to flash to let another car go, which they did, totally not noticing me until they were already in my path. Rather than carrying on so I could avoid them, they slammed the brakes on in the middle of the road forcing me to stop dead a few ft from the side of their car. Stupid fkers. I just shook my head and carried on.

Of course you can, that's what his insurance is for, but do you know who he is?

If you were injured then surely the police would have been invovled and obtained the relavant drivers details.... So you would need to contact them for the details then put a claim in to the driver's insurance company (the one you hit as it would have been his responsibility to look out for you)

One the other hand, if the cars legged it then that's a case of hit and run, failure to stop/report which is a whole different kettle of fish.

How on earth do you come to that conclusion ? The driver making the turn has a responsibility to ensure that his way is clear. The other driver stopping does not give him an automatic right to cross the other lane.

I wasn't at the scene so this is only my opinion,

but if the car on your side of the road had stopped long enough for the third party to cross from his side of the road, past the stopped car and into your lane, then could you have maybe been undertaking the stopped car?

Marshalla beat me to it! There aren't many accidents where no-one is at fault. Of course the driver turning across your path is at fault.

Furthermore, if the driver who was next to you waved the other driver across, then he would also bear some responsibility.

Yeah but one was a driver and one was a cyclist and this is pistonheads.

Claim off his insurance if you have his details and use some of the money to buy a nice new suit:
