We bought a second hand car last year and sent the slip to the DVLA pdronto. 6 months later no log book so we phone up and discover they have sent it to the wrong house. We kept a copy and the writing is very obvious as to what the number of our house is. They would not say which number they sent it to but are sending another.

Now the thing is, one of our neighbours is known to have a bit of a criminal record - should we be concerned?

So what can we expect - will they use it to clone the numberplate. Will the DVLA report their error to the police so they can investigate?

If i were you i would make sure that DVLA put a stop on the V5 unless its your copy and signed by you.

This will stop a second V5 entering the system and 'leapfrogging' yours.....if that makes sense.

Cheers Tony - will check that the DVLA have done this on Tuesday.

Will the DVLA inform the police and will any enquiries be made or should we do this ourselves.

They've forgotten about you already!
