Why are people whinging - Again?

Just reading through some of the posts on the Forum and they seem to be attacking the Police for catching people who are breaking the Law, ie Speeding.
Lets not go through all this complete and utter crap again...........you speed, you get caught....you accept the punishment.
It is as simple as that!
The Police dont make the Laws, its their jobs to uphold the Law, otherwise i will would become a Baker, Accountant etc.
If you cant say anything constructive then please dont bother to post at all.
We all, and i mean all.....get something out of the Forum and dont forget, when Off Duty, we are all in the same boat.
Its not my job to defend the Police..in fact i wont even try to defend 120,000 people that i have never met (or the Politicians who decide on the Laws)...........above all,i enjoy what i do and it puts spending money in my pocket.
Im sure that if you want to whinge about things that are plainly Black and White then there will be other Forums in which to ply your trade.

The other problem is that most of you spout off as though it is the fault of the Police. If you want to qustion relevance of law, then e-mail parliament.
We can explain how it works and why it is implemented but cannot answer for those that make it. Most of the reasons why are fairly obvious anyway!
And that has nothing to do with a Police State!!

I totally agree and wouldnt have it any other way..........but some of this is just regurgetated divvle....which is no use to man nor beast.

The police do not make it and you cannot ask police idea about it as they do it as it say!
They do what they told just like other job.
IMHO the issue depends on if the law is being "upheld" to the letter. As we all know, 69mph on a wet motorway is more dangerous than 71mph in the dry.
Having never met Tony, but reading his posts, I assume he would be one of the reasonable few to show some disgression (sp) and go for the 'bad' drivers, rather than those who stray a little over the posted limits. Unfortunately there are plenty of uniforms who show little regard for anything past their devices, and it is those who we all despise, as do their sensible colleagues.

Hey guys... no plod-bashing here! Our PH plods are great guys, give us good advice, and as they say they're not the ones who make the laws.......
Bash the bent politicians who are using lies and statistics to support their weakening arguments....
Our BiBs are between a rock and a hard place, so give them some air......
Mind you there are exceptions to all rules as has been shown with some threads about BiBs who are not on this list and appear to behave like "lil hitlers"
As someone else mentioned there are no arsehole estate agents, car-drivers or pedestrians are there?

What im taking issue about here is people who are for example, doing 100mph on a dry, empty Motorway and they get caught.
A lot of people expect to be 'let off' and take exception when they get reported for the Offence.
We all agree about the use of appropriate speed etc and that some of the Laws are disgraceful, but if youre in the Wrong....and by that i mean 'breaking the Law' then please dont try to pass the blame....we are all grown up but dont act like it some of the time.

I think a lot of people whinge because we feel motorists are particularly targetted, whereas the police can't seem to be bothered when you have other problems, such as being burgled, assaulted etc.
I think people would be less angry about being caught 10mph over the speed limit if they felt the police had already conquered the other more serious problems in our society. Basically, i find it a little irritating that after being threatened with a (very large might I add!) knife, the police did nothing - yet if you creep over the speed limit they're all over you. As a motorist i feel i'm looked upon as an easy target.

See this 100mph is where the contention sets in.
Sunny, empty, dry, excellent visibility then if you get pulled doing say 90-95, if you get a good trafpol and are not driving like a complete berk then chances are, I would say, that a stern word and you will be back on your way.
However, once you hit that magic 100mph and an automatic ban (practically) comes along from the bench then its a case of you're nicked sonny jim.
Why the completely different handling for circa 10mph?

What you are in effect saying is, that basically law abiding people that occasionally decide to ignore a specific piece of legislation because they like to or it suits tham at that time should be given a better deal than those that ignore laws to make a living.
I am afraid it does not work like that.
Its not that 'we can't be bothered' its that where criminal prosecution is to stand up in court, people (witnesses)need to make statements and be prepared to turn up at court. Unfortunately lots always have something better to do!!
Time is a factor. Many uniform officers do not have time even for a P
ss some days and when you have a dozen crimes in your tray and 3 more victims to see in the next shift who either cannot help or do not want to help, then there is a feeling of helplessness to say the least. When finally you do get someone through the back door and charged with an offence, then there is the legal system to satisfy too. What is not on trial is whether the person is guilty or not. What is on trial is the standard of the officers paperwork and the investigation itself!!
