Is Nitrous legal to use on the road ? I think I'm right in saying it's legal to have fitted, but illegal to use - am I right ?

Wrong - it's totally legal. See 5th gear last night (repeated tonight I think). You can run your car on any "fuel" you like - I've heard of Methanol burning drag cars with tax and MOT being driven on the road! Nitrous simply adds more oxygen to the combustion process (you then also need more petrol of course) so there is really nothing to be legislated against.

You can run on pink as long as you pay the tax cant you?

Same goes for veg oil and all the others.

No, red diesel has a different formulation. it's Ok for low tech and agricultural engines, but will damage a high tech car engine with useage.

And nitrous isn't a fuel. It's an oxidising agent.

not only that but auto-grade nitrous is laced with sulphur so you'd be driving a'la undertaker if you do it that way!
