Hi guys

Can anyone tell me what Section 64 is?

It's supposed to be an essential attribute for a job I've applied for....I've got an interview for the job, but haven't a clue what this section 64 is.

Anyone able to help?

edited to add...I've done a google search but they all seem unrelated to the position applied for....which is licencing officer with the Police.

nb..seems there's an automatic disqualification in the blurb if I influence a Police officer

Ive looked under the Licensing Act of 1964 and theres every section apart from section 64.

However, section 60 (4) states the following -:

"The Licensing Justices for any Licensing district, if satisfied that the requirements of the District make it desirable, may by order modify for the District the hours specified in subsection (1) (a) of this section {so that permitted hours begin at a time earlier than 11am, but not earlier than 10am}".

The permitted hours in Licensed premises shall be -:

(a) On weekdays, other than Christmas Day, Good Friday or New Years Eve, the hours from 11am to 11pm, and
(b) On Sundays, other than Christmas Day, Good Friday or New Years Eve, the hours from 12noon to 10.30pm,
(c) On Christmas Day, the hours from 12noon to 10.30pm, with a break of 4 hours beginning at 3pm.

(Contrary to Special Occasions Licensing Order 2001)

Hope that this helps but if you get any further info please let me know.

Section 64 Licensing Act 1964 is the start of sections dealing with restriction on permitted hours in licensed premises. Virtually repeats what TC states (60 (4) modifies permitted hours throughout the year.)

The section (64) itself deals with seasonal Licences. If beaks satisfied requirements of district make it desireable, at the the request of person applying for or holder of "On Licence", insert in the licence a condition that during part of the year as specified there shall be no permitted hours on the premises - i.e seasonal licence. This may be varied, revoked on application/transfer.

Is someone applying for Bar manager job at a Holiday Camp which closes duing the winter?

Thanks a lot for that

Makes a lot more sense now

I have the NLC for an off-licence...and all the info re the forthcoming changes - but I was totally stumped with this section 64....should have realised it was to do with an on-licence.

Thanks again
