Fine for Killing a Trafpol !
Discussion
Saw on TV last night that a woman who ran into a Trafpol on the A1M last year was given a 12 month ban and a £500 fine.
To be honest, i couldnt believe it....what is the world coming too?
Edited to say that no matter how severe the Fine, sadly..it wouldnt bring Andy back !

Thought you got 10 years at least for this?
12 month ban? And a just-over hard-working pillar of society gets 6-12month under totting up? Something not right!
And scrotes get away with it! ( Remember the classic of last month: "Just sit at the back of court, young man - and if you sit still with your arms folded - we will let you of completely")
Something definitely wrong with calibre of mags and judges we get these days!
But then - what can you expect from politically correct b
s.
Very sorry to hear about your colleague! And agree - that woman should have served time and been banned for lot longer - and been made to redo the test!
Law's a real ass!

Tony.
It wasn't speed that killed him, it was someone who failed to pay attention!
If they had been failing to pay attention in their lounge when being talked to by their family/partner or whatever, he would still be here!

It was a tragic sequence of events....mainly not paying attention coupled to some extremely bad luck.

Unfortunately like so many!
The guy who fell asleep in his Disco and went off the motorway onto a railway line was imprisoned. I've since heard that driving off the road onto railway lines happens "a couple of times a month". So yes, it seems that "luck" (however you define it) does have a large part to play in whether a mistake turns into a tragic accident.
Nonetheless, wasn't the max sentence for this just increased to 15 years? How come this was dealt with by a fine?

Instead of 20+ years you will only get a fine ![]()
I'd be interested to know the last time someone was sentenced to 20+ years, let alone served it...
As I have always said the Justice system favours Money over life. How else do you explain the lentilist getting 16 months gaol for tyre slashing and this woman getting away with a fine and driving ban for killing a person. Living, breathing and quality of life should always be the priority. Its historic. Have a look at the way these crimes have been dealt with in the past.
